Brand new music video from Keyshia Cole featuring elements from the late 2Pac.
There had been rumors in the past year that the electronics store Circuit City would be closing, with Best Buy becoming heavy competition and some saying that with BB’s budget and advertising (and perhaps better service), it made it hard to compete. Perhaps this news is the start of the inevitable. Due to stocks going lower than a dollar, Circuit City has announce they will be closing 155 stores. According to an article at Consumerist.com, employees of the affected stores were told of the news yesterday on what was meant to be meetings to promote upcoming holiday promotions. Instead, they’re all getting pink slips. The store will make an official announcement to the public this morning, with a list of stores that will be closing.
Circuit City had pushed to bring in customers with exclusive CD’s and DVD’s not unlike other boxed stores, but with a selecting that catered to soul, R&B, and hip-hop fans. Unfortunately, one walk into a store shows their music section to be a pathetic selection of three rows of disorganization, with no sense of order.
I’m not sure if the closure of 155 stores means they plan on regrouping or this will be the gradual end of the store, but if it leads to what happened with Future Shop before they huli’d over to become Best Buy, you may find some bargains. The Consumerist.com article states that liquidators are ready to sell, and their goal is to sell at whatever price they seem fit, not as a discount.
