This Is Book’s Music

According to an article at Pitchfork, Florian Schneider of the group Kraftwerk will officially leave the group he co-founded almost 40 years ago with Ralf Hutter.

The article goes on to say that Kraftwerk’s website released this statement:

“Florian is a great musician, always seeking the perfect sound through technology. Refined and perfected sounds and vocoders to impossible levels of perfection.”

Kraftwerk, and more importantly the work of Schneider, were one of many German groups who hoped to move the country out of the old ways through their music, by looking at the future and never going back. Today, one must temporarily look back at the contributions of Schneider and see how much he, they, Germany, and we as music consuming, electronic addicted fans have gone.
