REVIEW: Landed’s “Liver + Lungs”

Image Hosting by imagefra.me This is a nuts album. Landed, I have no idea where they’re from, for all I know they could be living under a tree. But their bio states this album is a collection of songs from the group’s different line-ups throuhgout the years, although most of the time the six songs here sounds like the creation of one man.

Liver + Lungs (Corleone) is a clusterfuck of noise and distortion that may or may not be politically driven. There are songs with titles such as “Fuck Seat Belts, Fuck Ralph Nader”, “Blow Your Burger”, “Dirty Bomb”‘ “Creeping Hand”, “Osama Oxy Contin”, and “Tip of The Whip’, but behind the mysterious titles, you’ll hear a guy semi-singing and screaming over a drummer who plays hard and occasionally tripping over different time signatures. It sounds like a one-man project, but it’s not. Imagine if Black Pus were to become a bit more alterna- friendly, something you’d expect to hear on the radio (and that’s stretching it a bit), and… I don’t know to be honest. High volume, high velocity, and very noisy. Find a way in, and get lost.
