Their Late project has been spotted on a number of “Best Of 2011″ lists, and if you’ve heard it, you’ll know why. The Good Sin and 10.4 Rog are within the command center of their musical spaceship, and their journey comes to a visual wrap with what is said to be the third and last video for Late, but this only opens the doors for possible projects from both of them as a duo, and definitely individual paths they choose to work on in the new year.
You can download the song for free, but if you haven’t heard the full Late project, download it for free as well.
Cultus Sabbati have been around for a few years, but I am a foreigner to their shores, only coming across them recently when I read Christopher Weingarten‘s Spin’s Top 10 Best Avant Albums Of 2011 list. The band’s Garden of Forking Ways album is on the list, but they have since released a new EP called Woden’s Galder. “The Serpent Hewn” is from the EP, and this video is merely a collage of images to compliment/not compliment the sounds.
The band are posting the EP as a free download, which you can download by clicking here (41.6mb).
Regardless of what traditions you’re celebrating this year, or if it’s simply a good excuse to eat a lot of food, watch sports, wash clothes, or organize your T-shirt collection (hand up), it’s also a good time to listen to some holiday favorites. I posted a number of tracks yesterday, and this one is brand new from Kosha Dillz, who says it’s a worthy battle between “Hannukah vs Christmas”. It’s a musical battle that is not something worth going to war for, but in song it can be, at least for 3 minutes and 12 seconds. Let’s see where this battle takes us.
If Christmas music was as cool, soothing, and funky as this track, I’d overdose in it.
This is the awesome Mochipet chilling himself in the snow and oozing in the afterglow of moog funkiness with his holiday song, “All I Want Is Moog Porn For Christmas”, and who wouldn’t? The song was originally released on the Baby Godzilla compilation, but he’s isolating it and making it available for free via Bandcamp. If you didn’t catch Baby Godzilla the first time, you can do so right now.

Discovered this book review blog when someone had posted a review of a music book. Went through it and saw a number of books I immediately put on my want list. Created by Maria Popova and features a number of contributors.
Cool slew of goodies from books and diaries to T-shirts, bags and soaps. Now based in Portland.
The show is no more, but you may explore the archives of this great Portland-based podcast while you can. You may now listen to Cort & Bobby in Welcome To That Whole Thing, listed below.
