Sounds like a plan to me. When Hood Internet finish, the album will be released. September 18th to be exact.
Portland duo John Heart Jackie are more than ready to record a new album, and they will very soon but they will also be doing a number of shows along the way in July. Perhaps they’ll feature existing new material, maybe they’ll write new experiences along the way. The group will have another Portland group along for the ride, Blind Pilot, during the last four shows that will take them to Canada, Maine, and New York:
July 19… New York, NY @ Rockwood Music Hall
July 21… Brooklyn, NY @ Spindle Room
July 22… Washington, DC @ The Velvet Lounge
July 23… Philadelphia, PA @ Silk City
July 24… Pittsburgh, PA @ Shadow Lounge

July 26… Montreal, QC @ Corona Theatre *
July 27… Portland, ME @ Port City Music Hall *
July 30… Buffalo, NY @ Tralf Music Hall *
* with Blind Pilot
No definite release date for the new album, other than that it will be released sometime before the end of 2012.
You might remember when Rilgood dropped “We Rollin’” and made people get high off of their own hashish tongues. He’s back, and if it’s not broke, take another toke from the joint, right? This is “We Rollin’ II”, and a new song means a new mix tape in the form of Great Expectations, which you can have for it as you make your way towards its July 17th release date.
“Seasons” is the brand new Zapata-produced track from Serge Severe‘s next project, Silver Novelist, which will be released on July 30th. You can download the song for free right now via Soundcloud.
If hearing this will make you go “damn, I got to hear more from this kid from where?” Then I would say “Portland, Oregon”, and you would go “oh yeah, right on”, then I would lead you to the Bandcamp box below, where you’re able to pre-order the 6-song EP. (If you’re not seeing the player below, you may also click this link.)
If you’ve been waiting for new music from the Preach Jacobs and Dose collabrative project known as Analog, wait no more. “Bet You Didn’t Know That” is from their forthcoming album Arrow of God, which will be released on 12/12/12. That means of course you have to wait to hear it in full, but you can listen to one song immediately. As in now. Go ahead. I highly look forward to hearing the rest of it.
Exactly one month ago, I reviewed Reks‘s latest project, Straight, No Chaser and did not expect for him to come out with brand new music so fast. When you’re hungry, you’re hungry, and “Unlearn” will be on his next album called Rebelutionary, due out July 24th on Gracie Productions. The album will be released on vinyl, along with the trendy MP3 and CD formats and you are able to pre-order your copy right now via Amazon below.
What you are looking at is the official cover art for Long Slow Dance, The Fresh & Onlys‘s forthcoming 4th album scheduled for release on the 4th of September by Mexican Summer. Songs? Sure, this is the track listing:
1. 20 Days and 20 Nights
2. Yes or No
3. Long Slow Dance
4. Presence of Mind
5. Dream Girls
6. Fire Alarm
7. Executioner’s Song
8. No Regard
9. Euphoria
10. Foolish Person
11. Wanna Do Right By You
The band and the label are allowing fans to hear one track for now, called “Yes And No”. Click play.
The promo material for the album states that the project was “recorded on the same reel-to-reel that the influential Warren Zevon did “Werewolves of London”, but I think what they meant to say was the reel-to-reel tape machine, not the physical multi-track or master tape for the song. Otherwise, that might make major labels paranoid about their tape vaults.
What fans will not have to freak out about are these tour dates, where you will no doubt hear the new material.
