FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD: Voice featuring P.U.D.G.E.’s “Silkworm”

Photobucket
“Silkworm” is a new track by Voice, who teams up with P.U.D.G.E. to create a song that is not really a return to the earthiness of hip-hop, but merely a continuation of the good work artists have done throughout the music’s history. You can download the track for free and if you like it, consider buying the album it’s from, called Cutz.

Can a lady take a rest? Eh, she probably doesn’t want to, and judging by these tour dates, she’s not. Sharon Van Etten has been on the road since February, taking a few breaks here and there but it’s being done not only for the love of playing music, but to promote her album Tramp (Jagjaguwar). VIDEO: Onuinu’s “Happy Home”

ONUINU / Happy Home from Andrew Sloan on Vimeo.

When you hear a song like this, you might not expect to see a video like this? What is this? Have a look and listen. The music by Onuinu is a nice pop blend of electronic pop but quite danceable. The video looks like something… well let me put it this way. A dance track like this is often reserved for a video in a nightclub. You actually see sunlight in this. Musically and visually, it is not a “proper” mix but in your mind you make it proper because it sounds and looks good. You can thank Andrew Sloan for the visuals on this one.

Onuinu will be releasing his album called Mirror Gazer on 9/11, courtesy of Bladen County/Bad Cop Bad Cop. You’re able to see him right now on tour, so if the video moves you, move yourself into one of these venues.

VIDEO: Justice’s “New Lands”

For me, I love it when a music video has nothing to do with the song. I know that some people will see it and wonder what it all means. For me, a music video can mean everything and absolutely nothing. It is a marketing too, and the guys in Justice know about marketing and have put enough faith in the Spanish collective Canada (these are keywords they wanted me to share with everyone, “Spanish collective” and Canada) to put this together. Let it ferment.

As reported a few weeks ago, Justice will be headed on tour to pay some bills and to promote their New Lands single. Click here for a look at where they’ll be stopping.
