AUDIO: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Mary Lambert’s “Same Love”

This song was recorded for the Music For Marriage Equality Campaign and will be released formally by Sub Pop next week on the 24th, while it will be pressed as a 45 for release on July 31st. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis decided to record a song about “Same Love” and brought in Mary Lambert to help them out. The song will also be released on Macklemore’s album The Heist, due out on October 9th.

Proceeds from the sale of this song will benefit marriage equality in Washington State, so stream and listen.

To find out why Macklemore is doing this and why this is a cause worth supporting, watch the video below.

VIDEO: Dan Deacon’s “True Thrush”

Say hello to Dan Deacon again.

Deacon has had a video made for “True Thrush”, a song from his forthcoming album America that’s due out at the end of August. What I like about this is that the song is produced in a manner that sounds technical and complex, but the video is a bit more human driven than one that involves computers doing things with loops and sound. See what I mean.

VIDEO: Meyhem Lauren’s “Fingerless Driving Gloves”

“I ain’t bringing shit back, New York, we never left” is a line that will hit you immediately. Like a chocolate chip cookie you’ve had a hunger for, you know you’re not going to take a mere bite. That’s what Meyhem Lauren wants you to do with his lyrics and music: create a need in you to want to hear more of what he has to offer. “Fingerless Driving Gloves” is that acid-tinged tab, let it coat your mind a bit. Once that happens, you are able to continue the experience more with his new mix tape called Respect The Fly Shit, which he’s making available for free. Click here for more tabs.

AUDIO: Mono’s “Dream Odyssey”

The compact discs for the brand new Mono are ready to be shipped to various destinations. I have not heard For My Parents yet, but Mono fans are drooling after hearing this, the first bit of full sound from the album, which will be released on the 4th of Spetember on Temporary Residence Limited.
