When you’re in a forest surrounded by cans of PBR and Coors Light, what do you do? Well, you could recycle the fans and turn it in for some change, or you could be like Prie and say “get me a chair, I’m going to make a music video.”

Here’s an interesting project, a new 7″ EP compilation of German origin that puts together 41 different bands on one record. That is, on one 7″ record. Each band gets only 10 second to do whatever they want, and they’re all crammed on here for all to hear.
The record is packaged in a sleeve that unfolds into a 2-color silkscreened poster, and only 320 numbered copies will be sold. James Klynn of the Freedom Hall collective has released a brand new song called “I’ll Think Of You”, where he takes a song source of sympathy, turns it inside out and reveals it as something romantic. I love the feel, because at first it begins like a movie, then like a record that you might have discovered at a thrift store or yard sale, before it hits hard with the ol’ boom bap. The line “yesterday’s paper/not relevant in these skyscrapers” stands out for me, and I think the lyrics stand out because they’re… well, written. It’s effort, it’s thought, it’s motivation, it’s ambition, it’s a song that isn’t done just for the sake of making something that’ll sound dope. For me, it’s a bit more and I hope that “more” is what brings people into hearing more from Klynn.
Explore is a forthcoming EP by California’s Yoodoo Park, who wants to be known musically as GRMLN, and it seems his musical spirit is equal to those of the 1960′s and 1970′s that celebrated the California sound. This 19-year old wants people to hear his sound, and maybe what he feels his generation represents. Listen to what that is with “Coral”
