REVIEW: Bloom & Mieksneak’s “Piece Of Mind” (EP)
Six songs, that’s all you have. What would you do? For Bloom & Mieksneak, they made the best of it and that best comes in the form of the EP Piece Of Mind, an even blend of vocalized tracks and instrumentals that are sure to inspire new MC’s and MC’s of the future to want to rhyme over it, and make other producers go “damn, I understand that’s laid back, that’s how the shit gets played back” (as explained in “Lime Green”.) Bloom is an MC that unfolds new rhymes and stories like the true wordsmith that he is, complete with stable tales and stoner adventures. Mieksneak produces and compiles the sounds in the way that he does because… I don’t know, if it’s not in his DNA, then he is someone who has take his sound observances and makes it sound as if he originated them. The exchange between MC and producer here is very fluid and tranquil, just as the best collaborations should be. Boom bap.
