This would be Portland, Oregon’s Hungry Ghost, and if you are familiar with the names of Sara Lund, Lorca Wood, and Andrew Price but have not heard Hungry Ghost, get to it.
This Generation is the forthcoming collaborative album between Murs and Fashawn, and this video is a dose of the goods. The video was shot live by Guy Blelloch at this year’s Rock The Bells, but what you’ll hear is the studio version of the track. Nonetheless, I think many will just see their names and go “well damn, I’m going to buy two copies of that”. Do so.
A new generation is learning about the joys and quirks of Devo, and this is not that kiddie Dev2.0, this is a rocking band of young teens called Residual Kid who are really into the music they play. Check out how they do it.
They will present themselves even more when their album Faces is released on October 9th.
This man is named Yoodoo Park, and he looks solemn. When he creates music, he is GRMLN, who may or may not be solemn with an instrument in hand but he is sure to make people with this, a recording of his rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”. It may sound like it could blow up to a grungy ballad, but instead it keeps to the song’s mellow spirit with only a small bit of voltage involved. It’s an extra track he wanted to pass along to fans as they wait for his EP on Carpark Records called Explore. “Stand By Me” will not be on it, but he’s sure to perform this live. Speaking of which…
