VIDEO: DonPrestlé featuring Ronnie Brown’s “Gun Show”

A new artist to my ears has come to my attention, and he goes by the name of DonPrestlé (pronounced like “Presley”, think of the chocolate makers Nestlé). No sweetness here though, but you may listen to this track and watch the video, then say “oh damn, that Don guy is sweet”, or as they say in New Zealand, “sweet as”. It’s a compliment equal to “bad ass”, “dope”, “fresh”, say what you want but this is nice. It’s about a “Gun Show” when you’re hanging out in the streets, and he does so with help from Ronnie Brown. At first I wasn’t sure how the lyrical flow fit in with the beat, but once it gets to the chorus, you’ll understand how things work and you’ll want to start from the beginning again. Then you’ll realize that both of their flows are uniquely different, which is cool in itself, but it may remind you of what Outkast used to do where the beat may sound like it’s in 3/4 but the flow is a speedy 4/4.

Regardless of your entry point, just get in and enjoy what they offer. If you like it, check out this other track, this one with ReignTheAnimated.
