Mikey Davis and Kim Warning are two-thirds of a trio you might not be familiar with yet, but should be. They are called Cali Giraffes, and the band will be releasing their second album very soon called Girls Turn Into Girls. The third position in the group tends to change but in this track it is filled by Evan Dando, he of Evan Dando fame. If you’ve been a fan of Warnick as I have since her days with The Fastbacks (or perhaps you got into her music with Visqueen), you’ll definitely love this. Warnick had taken a timeout from music to concentrate on life, relocated from her longtime home of Seattle to Portland, Maine, has done a few solo shows here and there but it seems the Cali Giraffes may bring her back for a brief moment. Excellent.
