FREE MP3 DL: The Rebel Light’s “Strangers”

The sound of sunshine pop is just just a dated artifact of the 1960’s, it is alive and well in 2015 and just just in California or anywhere near beach communities. You may find it within a new group who call themselves The Rebel Light and by listening to “Strangers”, you will no longer be a stranger, as it is possible to be welcomed at any party. It’s ready for the summer to come in about six weeks, so prepare for it by rubbing your body with suntan lotion and lubing up with this song.

If you’re a regular visitor of ThisIsBooksMusic.com and are saying “wait, didn’t you post this last fall?“, yes I did but for some reason the song was removed from Soundcloud. It has been upped again for a new means of promotion.

VIDEO: Newham Generals’ “Soundboi Killa”

Released two weeks ago is a video by Newham Generals called “Soundboi Killa” and if the name sounds distinctively British, you would be correct. The song is on their new EP N To The G’s, and Footsie and D Double E want to let everyone know that British grime/hip-hop is very much alive and well, thank you, with assistance from producer Toddla T.

VIDEO: Blueprint’s “King No Crown”

Brand new from the Printmatic one himself known as Blueprint. He is one of the few MC’s I highly anticipate for to hear, and of course I’m able to glimpse at the visual representation for “King No Crown”, done by directors Keenan Parry and Ason Intrigue. It’s the title track for his new album out now, available through his website Weightless.net.

REVIEW: La Chat’s “Murder She Spoke II”

La Chat photo LaChat_cover_zpseft2ry3t.jpg La Chat’s voice is quite good, I have no complaints about it but the songs on Murder She Spoke II (Select-O-Hits/Phixieous Entertainment) doesn’t motivate me to want to listen to it again. One time was enough and even during the listening session I was thinking “do I have to continue listening to this?” It could’ve been a snippet file with 15 seconds excerpts of the 17-song album and I probably would’ve been happier. I just found some of her lyrics to be boring and because of it, the songs are lackluster. When you make an album and the people who guest star on it outdo you, you need to tell your producers or executive producers “sharpen this, please”. If you want a better La Chat project, get the album she did with Gangsta Boo, Witch. I didn’t hate Murder She Spoke II at all but it’s just not for me.
