Lightning Bolt have become one of my favorite bands in the last few years, and hopefully one day I’ll be able to witness their music in a live setting. I’m always on the lookout for cool performances of the duo, and this is one that’s new to my eyes and ears. Lightning Bolt are playing at something called The 26th Annual Strawberry Festival, at New York University, and they were one of the bands to perform that day. Unfortunately, the school security were not in tune with the unspoken rules of the “pit action”, and thought that either destruction was going to happen, or mayhem was going to takeover. The band are not interrupted once, but twice, and one of the guys in front of the audience explains that what’s going on in the pit is not bad.
One of my favorite bands of the last few years, Lightning Bolt, are about to loosen your cobwebs with a tour to start in late March. Guitarist Brian Gibson and drummer Brian “Black Pus” Chippendale are ready to bring their sonic mayhem to their fans. I hope to get a chance to see them, as I’ve never been to a Lightning Bolt show before, but I would highly recommend bringing earplugs, if the video below is any indication.
