VIDEO: Sharon Van Etten’s “Magic Chords”
If you saw a body floating down a river like this, what would be the first thing you’d do? Stop and call for help? Or would you look over and go “holy crap, that’s Sharon Van Etten, let me bring my guitar over so we can jam with someone rescues… oh wait, she’s making a video?”
Regardless of what you’d do, hopefully you would do the right thing. The end result would be Van Etten’s new video “Magic Chords”, directed by Rick Alverson.
Tour dates for her fall tour were reported in July, and she has been in Europe for the last month. In fact tonight she played a show in Sheffield, England. She is on the road in support of her album Tramp (Jagjaguwar), and with a show in Turkey this weekend, she’ll head back to the states at the end of the month, only to head back to England in December, take a brief break during the holiday season before heading to Australia for the new year.
