VIDEO: Chrome Canyon’s “Memories of a Scientist”

Photobucket
Chrome Canyon seems to create the kind of synth pop that is what you might hear as your soundtrack when entering your favorite video game room. Fairlights, Synclaviers, a Moog, and who knows what else, all coming from the mind of one Chrome Canyon, who also directed this video along with Noah Kalina.

The song is from Chrome Canyon’s forthcoming album on Stones Throw called Elemental Themes, due out on October 9th.

VIDEO: Holobody’s “Way The World Goes Round”

Holobody – Way The World Goes Round from Mush Records on Vimeo.

Holobody’s Riverhood EP on Mush is still going strong (you can read my review here) turning people on to their music, and now the duo have released a video for one of the songs, called “Way The World Goes Round”.

Now you can also compare the real Holobody with the illustration they had given out earlier this year.

VIDEO: SSION’s “Feelz Good (4-Evr)”

Some might feel this video is a bit too freaky, but this may just be the right amount of freaky for you. Or in truth, it may just be. SSION is bold enough to spell his entire name in capital letters, and his video is bold enough to become a visual sensation to the boldness of the music itself. The cool thing is that he wants to create a video album, or basically making individual music videos for each song on his forthcoming album called Bent. If this video is any indication, the entire projects looks and sounds like a blast.

VIDEO: Onuinu’s “Happy Home”

ONUINU / Happy Home from Andrew Sloan on Vimeo.

When you hear a song like this, you might not expect to see a video like this? What is this? Have a look and listen. The music by Onuinu is a nice pop blend of electronic pop but quite danceable. The video looks like something… well let me put it this way. A dance track like this is often reserved for a video in a nightclub. You actually see sunlight in this. Musically and visually, it is not a “proper” mix but in your mind you make it proper because it sounds and looks good. You can thank Andrew Sloan for the visuals on this one.

Onuinu will be releasing his album called Mirror Gazer on 9/11, courtesy of Bladen County/Bad Cop Bad Cop. You’re able to see him right now on tour, so if the video moves you, move yourself into one of these venues.

SOME STUFFS: Emmanuelle De Héricourt ready to be EDH for you

Photobucket
Yaviz (Lentonia) is a new album by Emmanuelle De Héricourt, who you may enjoy under the name EDH. June 12th is when the album will be released, but you are able to hear her brand of electronic pop by hearing the song “Ice”, which you can also download for free by clicking the Soundcloud player below. Héricourt has been releasing music for nine years and this is merely part of the path she has created for herself, and it seems to be a good path too.

The vinyl pressing of the album will come with a CD featuring remixes by Hype, Stereovoid, Elmapi, Subtitle, Unison, Nicolas Jorio, Ricky Hollywood, and others.

REVIEW: Zoon Van Snook’s “(Remixes From) The Nutty Tree”

(Remixes From) The Nutty Tree (Mush) is a remix album of a project I really liked two years ago, and it’s nice to hear not only a return to it, but for Zoon Van Snook to allow others complete freedom to do whatever they want with the songs. I can relate to this.

This album features great remixes by Daedelus, Lost Idol, Fujiya & Miyagi, Woos, Ape School, and many others. The interchange between artist and remixer will be good, for fans of the remixers will discover someone new while Van Snook fans are able to open their minds to their favorite songs taken on into new worlds. It also comes off like a brand new Van Snook album with all new material, even though they are remixers so… dive into the pool.

SOME STUFFS: Zang Tuum Tumb to release deluxe edition of Propaganda remix album

Prop_WishfulDLX
For some American fans, this release may come as a bit of a shock, especially since Propaganda‘s music was not heavily pushed/promoted here. After the release of their debut album, A Secret Wish, Zang Toom Toom Records decided to put together what worked as a greatest hits EP consisting of the hit singles that had come from the album, put in a few album tracks, but created brand new music of everything so that even if you bought the 45, the 12″, and the cassette singles, there would still be something unique upon listening to it. The album was (perhaps) aptly called Wishful Thinking, as if the label was perhaps aware of what they were doing, but despite the marketing plan, the album did work on its own merits. It allowed Propaganda fans to hear their favorite song in a new way, and the production work made it possible to dig deeper into the mechanics of the machine. While the album was released in the U.S. in the late 1990′s, it was a bit after the fact and did not get much attention, if at all.

Over 25 years after its original release, ZTT have remastered it and are releasing it as a deluxe edition, complete with liner notes about the album along with previously unreleased material, as the ZTT vaultmasters continue to find delightful goodies.

Here is the official track listing for the deluxe edition of Wishful Thinking:
1. Abuse
2. Machined
3. Laughed
4. Loving
5. Jewelled
6. Loved
7. Abuse
8. Thought
9. Strength to Dream (Outtake 04.02.84)
10. p:Machinery (The Beta Wraparound)
11. The Murder of Love (Murderous Instrumental)
12. Dr Mabuse (Outtake 24.04.85)
13. Frozen Faces ( A Secret Sense of Rhythm)
14. p:Machinery (The Voiceless Beta Wraparound Edit)

The original album consisted of tracks 1-8 (with the instrumental “Thought” being a personal favorite), so even if you have the original CD pressing, you have some extra goodies to dive into. This deluxe edition will be released on June 12th.

FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD: Auto Body’s “Say What You Will”

Photobucket
For that electronic pulse/injection you need, consider Auto Body. Their style of electronic music mixes in with a decent pop sensibility, which means you’ll hear them and go “this is familiar to me, a bit like what I hear on the radio or on a streaming radio station.” Maybe it’s better than what you hear on a TV show, and this would drive you to dance and grind your hips over a… I don’t know, a puppy? Yes, let’s go with that image for awhile.

Auto Body self-released the Say What You Will EP this week, so have a listen. Grinding optional.
