The new EP? Sod In The Seed will be released on August 14th, and here’s the official cover art.
Doseone and Jel have returned as, appropriately, Themselves, and a new album is on its way in the form of CrownsDown. It will be released on my birthday, and here is the official track listing:
1. Back II Burn
2. Oversleeping
3. The Mark
4. Gangster Of Disbelief
5. Daxstrong
6. You Ain’t It
7. Roman Is As Roman Does
8. Skinning The Drum
9. Deadcatclear II
10. Gold Teeth Will Roll
What will make of the album? Fans of Doseone, Jel, and the Anticon movement will buy this blindly, but some of the things referenced in their press release include such things as “X-Clan”, “electro bounce”, “Nas”, “Kool Keith”, “Auto-Tune”, and “sweat-and-blood-made crowns”. What does this all mean? You’ll find out, but if you can’t wait around for it just yet, they did create a pre-release album that fans can download for free. You can find out about it here.
You may know of Doseone and Jel and because of that, you may know of Themselves. They are heading on tour again, and as you anticipate them, you can download their brand new album for free. It’s called theFREEhoudini and you can download it now by heading to Anticon.com.
As you let their sounds get into your pores, take a look at where they’re headed:
07/23 Seattle, WA Chop Suey
07/24 Portland, OR Doug Fir
07/26 Salt Lake City, UT Urban Lounge
07/28 Visalia, CA The Cellar Door
07/29 Los Angeles, CA Spaceland
07/30 San Diego, CA Brick by Brick
08/01 San Francisco, CA Bottom of the Hill
If you are in Honolulu this week, or about to head there, you’ll want to go to this concert at The Loft (115 N. Hotel St. #2). It brings together Ellay Khule along with NoCanDo, Joe Dub, and DJ Jus Jones. Anticon‘s own Jel is scheduled to appear as well, so head to the show and celebrate the last weekend of May 2009 in style.
The show is 21 and over, $10 at the door. For more information, head to Lightsleepers.
