SOME STUFFS: Steve Miller preparing new album for 2009
You may know him as the Space Cowboy, the gangster of love, or even Maurice, hell you might even remember him from “My Dark Hour” but Steve Miller has been playing and recording music for over 40 years and he’s about to release a brand new LP. According to Miller’s website, it will be a return to his blues and R&B roots, and perhaps “return” is not the right word since he’s always had it in him although he had to let the pop hits pay the bills. Nonetheless, the album was recorded last spring at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch, with the sessions engineered by the great Andy Johns. Some of the songs will feature vocalist Sonny Charles. The current version of the Steve Miller Band also features the almighty Norton Buffalo on harmonica, so it should be incredible.
The as-yet-untitled new album is due out later this year.
